The town decks itself out for the festival.
The people decorate the outsides of their homes with damask and the streets with
plants. The market, a mixture of colours, scents and clamour, offers its wares to
visitors. Artisans demonstrate their age-old crafts. The shopkeepers bring their
counters out onto the street. And from the kitchen stoves emerge the traditional
aromas of ancient recipes.
